About Irish Wedding Photographer Michelle Kenna
WHO, WHERE AND WHAT..
I'm a Dublin-based, Australian-born professional photographer & digital art-worker.
I grew up in sunny Queensland in Australia, with my quirky Irish father, DIY genius Aussie mother, and inexplicably tall brothers. I spent 10+ years with some of the most amazing wedding photographers in the world as my friends and mentors, opening my eyes to the never ending possibilities for modern wedding photography. Thanks to them, I'm excited by the opportunities I have to create something unique for each couple.
These days I'm based in Dublin and consider myself very fortunate to photograph weddings in some beautiful locations across Ireland, the UK and further afield. (But I do still miss Queensland's beaches and Tim Tam biscuits!)
OTHER (MORE PROFESSIONAL) BITS AND PIECES..
In 2005, I was recognised by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography [AIPP] as a Master of Photography with Honours, and am humbled to have been awarded the following by my peers:
2005 AIPP Queensland Editorial Photographer of the Year
2003 AIPP Queensland Illustrative Photographer of the Year
2001 AIPP Queensland Editorial Photographer of the Year
I hold a B.A. in Visual Communication Design from the mind-blowing Creative Industries faculty at Queensland University of Technology [QUT], and a Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment from SouthBank Institute of Technology [SBIT].
TRAINING & WORKSHOPS..
I've always enjoyed teaching whilst simultaneously working in the creative industries. After lecturing in Digital Imaging & Multimedia at SBIT (2004-2007) and QUT (1997-2001) in Australia, I developed a series of workshops and one-to-one courses in digital imaging & retouching for professional photographers.
